  • Visit to BAE Systems Global Combat Systems in Newcastle
    The North East Chapter of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the NECC are in for a February treat. BAE Systems Global Combat Systems is an Anglo-Swedish organisation created in 2009 that includes the Swedish company, Hagglunds.

    The company is opening the doors to its restricted access site for a Chamber
    of Commerce lunchtime visit on Tuesday 1st February.

    Swedish soprano Iréne Theorin can be heard in Nikolaus Lehnhoff's acclaimed staging of Wagner´s opera Parsifal at the English National Opera from 16 February until 12 March.

    The Kleiman Klöfver Duo is a new and inventive ensemble exploring unknown musical territory and breaking musical boundaries.

    In this concert Björn Kleiman and Nils Klöfver present a mixed programme of music by Bach, Schubert, Schnelzer and Piazzolla as a part of the Friday Night Late Shift series at the National Portrait Gallery.

    I work at the French Music Office in South Kensington. We are putting on an event called Music Day on the 21st of June. It is a free event with intentions to share the best of European talent.

    Our co-headliner is Fredrika Stahl. The Swedish beauty made famous by her cover of Twinkle Twinkle in the Nissan advert. She has since developed quite a buzz in the UK. We are also putting on bands from France, Italy and Luxembourg.

  • Residence of the Ambassador of Sweden
    On 19 June the Residence of the Ambassador of Sweden on 27 Portland Place will open its doors to the public for the first time as part of the London Festival of Architecture. This will allow visitors to get a glimpse of a grand example of late 18th century architecture and interior design.

    A talk and a guided tour of the residence will take place lead by Mr Frank Kelsall President of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain. There will also be an illustrated talk on Sir William Chambers another leading architect from this time.

    The event is on 19 June and starts at 10.30am. Tickets are free but registration is compulsory. Refreshments will be served.
