• Invitation from Latvian Community in Scotland

  On behalf of the Latvian Community in Glasgow, I would like to invite interested from Lithuanian Community to two movies.
  
  The documentary „Kaupens” is one of the most compelling stories about sadly famous Latvian robbers – the legendary Ansis Kaupens. There are still songs singed about him. Was he Latvian Robin Hood?
  
  He robbed and murdered but managed to escape from trials thought many years hiding deep in forest. He was caught only in 1927 when he was convicted and hanged.
  The documentary is based on bestseller “Art of Litigation” by Andris Grutups. Some episodes are reconstructed with elements of feature film (reenactment). Starring Egon Dombrovskis.
  
  Film director and producer is Maris Ozolins. Film is made by DOFIAP (Documentary Film Association). Total running time is 82 minutes. The movie is based on materials from cinema/photography archive, documentary evidence of Latvia State Archive of Audiovisual Documents and unique court record.
